PRE-WINTER ‘23 collection Pt.2:
ROTT© SMOKING MIRROR

SMOKING MIRROR (Tezcatlipoca) is a mythological god of the night and sorcery, patron of kings and warriors. The name Tezcatlipoca crudely translates to "Smoking Mirror" from Nahuatl, a language that originated in central Mexico used by the Aztecs, Toltecs, Mexica, Nahuatl peoples and more. The name is a reference to the use of a plate made of obsidian that was used during divination ceremonies. The god Tezcatlipoca is said to have had shapeshifting abilities and could transform into a jaguar. This collection features a tee and hoodie with an original painting by Dario Nevarez that was painted with watercolor on linen paper.

This collection includes a handful of other collaborations as well. We teamed up with San Diego based rapper YHG PNUT on the updated “BRICK BY BRICK” tee which features a graphic revisited from our archives, based on the Doggystyle album cover. Both installments of the PW23 collection feature artwork by Chicago based artists Koni, in part 2 we see her signature “Mona” character engulfed in flames while carrying rottie pups, all-over-printed in an 8-bit style, on mesh basketball shorts. Cozy and fire. The ROTT© x HYTM is a collection within a collection, featuring original artwork on a series of tees, crop tops, and framed prints as well as a brand new zine. This collaboration is a full year in the making.

Shout out to all of our friends around the country and abroad, the ROTT© City Series is finally here! The graphics from this series are a collection of collegiate and historic images that are meant to inspire thought and connection. We are so excited to introduce the first pieces of the series; the new MEGALITHIC button up shirts. The graphic depicts three megalithic statues from locations around the globe; Easter Island (Chile), Veracruz (Mexico), Tiahuanaco (Bolivia).

1.) Maoi, approximately 1600 of these dispersed around Easter Island off the coast of Chile. Attributed to the 13th century they stand 13' feet high and weight on average 14 tons. 2.) Olmeca head were built by the Olmec civilization who inhabited the area near the Gulf coast of Mexico during the 8th century. Standing between 5' and 11' feet and weighing between 6-40 tons, there are only 17 known in existence. 3.) The Ponce Monolith, it stands roughly 11.5' feet tall and is considered a 4th century Incan ruin, it is one of only a few standing monoliths at the site of Tiahuanaco. The largest structure at Tiahuanaco is called "The Gate of the Sun" it is a rectangular archway or gate, tall enough for a person to walk through, it weighs nearly 144 tons.

AUTUMN ‘23 collection:
ROTT© SEVEN YEAR ANNIVERSARY

As summer near ends and the colder months approach we shift our attention back from jubilation to preservation. Taking time to reflect on all of the fruitful blessings this year has brought for us. From creating a footprint in the Gaslamp District to having our designs on a runway during NY Fashion week, words can’t express the surreal joy that overwhelms us.

In celebration of these achievements and reaching our seven year mark we present to you our anniversary collection. This autumnal collection utilizes the power of on-demand printing to allow us the opportunity to supply you with some of our favorite designs from our archives and a whole range of never before seen styles.

Music has proven to be a major source of inspiration for us and in this latest collection we present two new designs from genres that could not be more dissimilar. The “Cold Steel” cap takes cues from 90s gangsta rap, whereas the “Selena” trucker and embroidered hoodie pay homage to the late Mexican-American star and Cumbia Queen.

Expression is one of our most prized possessions as humans and what better way to do so than through our favorite mediums; music and fashion. The Rott AW23 Collection connects our art back to the sounds and feelings that inspire us. Whether you’re out chasing sunsets or on the daily grind getting up before the dawn, stay warm this season in Rottweiler©.
